What Lightning is like
Lightning is the consensus pick for “best book you can actually get.” Maxbit: “The best sustained damage amongst Rares and competes slightly with Legendaries. You have amazing skill spamming rotations, great chaining damage and mobility. The best beginner Grimoire that you can get more easily than Legendaries and Mythicals.”
It is a Rare (35% rarity chance per spin) and costs 5,000,000 Yul in the store — cheaper than Poison, Plant and Chain.
Do not confuse it with Light: they are two separate books in the official roster with different kits, rarities and materials.

How to play Lightning
- Because Lightning is cooldown-spam, cooldown reduction scales it unusually well — High Elf (−25% cooldown) is a real alternative to Devil here.
- Gale Feathers come from Jungle Island and the shop; Blue Herb and Clear Water from Starter Island. Only Mana Crystal and Spirit Moss require mid/late islands.

Is Lightning the best Rare?
Both rankings we track place Lightning in A tier, alongside Chain, above every other Rare. Maxbit calls it the best beginner grimoire.
Is Lightning the same as Light?
No. Light is a separate Mythical book with different moves and awakening materials.
How do I use Lightning?
Rotate your skills as they come off cooldown and pull enemies together so the chaining damage hits several at once. Cooldown reduction (High Elf) and damage (Devil) both scale it well.
