Plant vs Poison
Two B-tier Rares with opposite strengths: Plant sustains you, Poison keeps ticking damage while you move.
Which one should you pick?
Our verdict Gamoryx, based on the data and rankings below.
You solo farm and value self-heal and a big AoE for clearing packs.
You prefer damage over time and a cheaper book (6M vs 8M Yul).

| Identity | A self-sustaining solo farmer with a strong AoE move — and the only book whose awakening costs have been filmed. | Damage-over-time book: strong if you can stack it, slower to start than Lightning. |
| Documented moves | M1, Later skill, Kit | Poison Slice, Venom Earthquake, Toxic Blast, Finisher |
| Strengths | Self-sustain for solo play; Great AoE for farming; Awakening costs are documented, so you can plan | Damage keeps ticking while you dodge; Good pack damage once Toxic Blast is down; Cheaper than Plant and Chain |
| Weaknesses | Lower damage ceiling than A-tier Rares; 8M Yul — more expensive than Lightning | Slower kill speed than Lightning; DoT is weaker against bosses that leave the area |
| Awakening materials | Earth Root, Golden Leaf, Green Herb, Honeycomb, Spirit Moss, Wild Berries | Blue Herb, Earth Root, Golden Leaf, Honey, Honeycomb, Spirit Moss |
Highlighted = better on that line, only when both values are published. Shared awakening materials: Earth Root, Golden Leaf, Honeycomb, Spirit Moss — owning both books doubles the demand on these.
What the rankings say
It is also the best-documented awakening in the game. Obey's September walkthrough shows a Plant book at Book Level 46/50 with stages I–IV complete; the stage V requirements and preview are reproduced below. Use them to understand the scale of late awakenings — not as the exact recipe for another book.
Full Plant page →Maxbit rates it B: “Can potentially dish out great DoT damage if given time to spam and stack up. That said the moves aren't as fast as Lightning.” Faceless also places it mid-tier and recommends it over the starter books.
